The Obelisk Si, has the ability to be upgraded by adding one of a choice of input cards - a high quality MM Phono card, or soon a neat DAC card. We used the pre-production DAC at the Bristol Hi Fi Show in February to great effect, with our hard drive server subjectively out performing our £1000 CD player.
The Si can also be improved by adding an external power supply, which then drives the amplifier section, boosting output and leaving the internal power supply to drive the pre amp section - we'll have the external power supply by September, along with the matching stereo power amp, so that bi-amping will become possible.
